Stacy Davis is the most decorated track and field athlete to compete for Saint Mary’s. As a sophomore, Stacy was named as Honorable Mention All-American in both the Indoor and Outdoor NCAA Championships. During her junior campaign, Stacy placed third in the 100 meter race at the NCAA Outdoor Championships and fourth in the 55 meter race at the NCAA Indoor Championships. In her senior season, Stacy placed fourth once again in the 55 meter race at the NCAA Indoor Championships. As a result of these stellar performances, she was honored as a First-Team All-American as a junior and a senior. Also in these years, Stacy earned the distinction as “Athlete of the Year” for Saint Mary’s. In 1999, she was named to Who’s Who – American College Students.
After graduation, Stacy took a teaching position at Elkhart Memorial High School. She then went on to be the 21st Century Community Learning Center Site Director for the South Bend Community School Corporation. From 2002-2003, Stacy was an instructor for the Saint Mary’s Education Department as well as a consultant for a local non-profit youth organization called Ark Angels, Inc. During this time, she was named as a Distinguished Young Alumna of Saint Mary’s College. She has also been a Curriculum Leader for the University of Notre Dame’s Institute of Educational Initiatives. She was named “Outstanding Social Studies Teacher” while teaching social studies at Engelwood High School, a Chicago public high school, in 2005.
