Marcie Gaus Berry was a four year letter winner as a member of the Saint Mary’s soccer team from 1987-1990. During her career at Saint Mary’s, Marcie was a defender for the Belles. She had a tremendous impact in her years on the pitch for the Belles, starting every game of her collegiate career. During her junior year, Marcie and her teammates put Saint Mary’s on the map in the soccer world. The Belles were the champions of the first Saint Mary’s Invitational en route to making their first ever NAIA post season appearance. Marcie garnered individual accolades by being named a member of the All-State first team by the Indiana Soccer Coaches Association as well as being named one of 26 athletes to the NAIA 1989 Women’s Soccer Scholar Athlete honor roll. In her senior season, Marcie was named a captain for the Belles, who moved from NAIA membership to NCAA Division III. The Belles defended their title as Saint Mary’s Invitational Champions in the 1990 season. The Belles finished that season with a 13-3-3 record.

Marcie embodied the spirit of Saint Mary’s on and off the soccer field. Outside of soccer, she was also a member of the Accounting Club as well as the Tax Assistance Program. Marcie held the office Service Commissioner for the Sophomore and Junior Class Boards. For her hard work in the business arena, Marcie was awarded a business internship during her junior year at Saint Mary’s. She was a part of the Admission & Scholarship Committee, a Christmas in April volunteer, and was named to “Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities & Colleges – 1991”. Marcie was on the Dean’s List during her years at Saint Mary’s and graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business in 1991.
