NOTRE DAME, Ind. - Saint Mary's College Volleyball sophomore Shannon Rudge (Granger, IN) and Cross Country freshman Adelaide Lulich (Canonsburg, PA) were named Belles Athletes of the Week after their performance last week.

Rudge led Belles Volleyball to a 3-1 record on the week, including two sweeps of Dominican University and Beloit College and a reverse sweep of Manchester University, coming back from down 2-0. In her 14 set played, Rudge tallied 46 kills, 50 points, and added four service aces and 32 digs.

The sophomore highlighted the weekend at Manchester for the Belles. In the win over the Spartans, she set a career high with 16 kills to lead the team in the rematch. In the Saturday finale against the University of Puerto Rico-Rio Piedras, Rudge set a new career high with an impressive 20 kills to lead the team in just four sets. In the match, she also hit an impressive .370, her highest in a match this season with at least five attempts.

Lulich led Belles Cross Country at the Bulldog Invite, hosted by Adrian College. She was the individual winner of the race with a time of 22:32. This is Lulich's second win of her young collegiate career, becoming the first runner since Megan Gray in 2007 to win multiple races in a season or career. Lulich also set a new season best time for a 6k race.

After falling behind from the leaders, Lulich pulled back and finished strong and not only closed the gap, but won the race by an incredible 18 seconds.

Rudge and Belles Volleyball continue the season at home on Tuesday as they host Elmhurst University for their annual Morgan's Message game before traveling to Kalamazoo College on Saturday to open MIAA play.

Lulich and Belles Cross Country are back in action on October 17 to close out the regular season at the Oberlin Interregional. They then kick off postseason competition at the MIAA Championships on October 31 in Albion, MI.
