NOTRE DAME, Ind. - Saint Mary's College Cross Country freshman
Adelaide Lulich (Canonsburg, PA) was named Belles Athlete of the Week after her win at the Oberlin Inter-Regional Rumble on Saturday. Lulich would also earn MIAA Runner of the Week honors for her performance.
Â
Lulich continued her incredible freshman season for the Belles after taking home first place at the Oberlin Inter-Regional Rumble. The win was the third of the season, setting the program record for most individual race wins in a season and career by a Belle.
Â
The freshman finished the day with a personal best 6k time of 22:19.7. She would finish ahead of the second place finisher from Denison University by almost exactly 20 seconds. Throughout the entirety of the race, she held the first place position across the 2k, 4,630 meter, and 5k splits. The only time she dropped to second place was during the 2,370 meter split, and was less than a half second behind. Lulich's time would also give her the fifth fastest 6k race time in program history and the fastest since 2016.
Â
Lulich and the Belles are back in action on October 31 as they take on the MIAA Championships at Marshall Country Club in Marshall, MI, hosted by Albion College. They then prepare for the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional on November 14 in East Lansing, MI.
