FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. - Saint Mary's College Tennis senior
Emma Kealy (Hudson, OH) was named MIAA Athlete of the Week for her performances in the Belles MIAA opening matches.
Kealy helped propel the Belles to back-to-back wins to open MIAA play last weekend, defeating Albion College 7-0 and taking down Alma College 6-1. Kealy went a perfect 4-0 on the weekend while outscoring her opponents 36-4 in six sets.
In the match against the Britons, Kealy swept both doubles and singles play with a 6-0 win at number one doubles with partner sophomore
Shannon Dudy (Glenview, IL) and earned a 6-0 6-0 sweep at the number one singles match. Against the Scots, her and Dudy earned another big 6-2 win at number one doubles before Kealy took home a strong 6-1 6-1 win at number one singles.
Kealy is now on a four-match win streak in both doubles and singles play and improved her Saint Mary's all-time wins record to 125 total wins.
Kealy and the Belles continue conference play on Monday, March 30, as they host the University of Olivet at 4pm before hitting the road on Tuesday, April 7, for a trip to Trine University.
