NOTRE DAME, Ind. - Saint Mary's College Basketball senior Alyssa Matuza (Troy, MI) and sophomore Ella Notaro (Crystal Lake, IL) were named College Sport Communicators Academic All-District for NCAA Division III. This is the first time earning the honor for both.
 
To be eligible for the CSC Academic All-District Award, the student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with legitimate athletic credentials and at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average (4.0 scale). They must have reached a sophomore athletic and academic standing at the institution and must have completed at least one full year at the institution.
 
Matuza, a psychology major, played in 24 games for the Belles while making one start while averaging 12 minutes per game. Matuza finished her final season with 38 points, 21 rebounds, and 13 assists. She tied her career high in points against Webster. She also tied career highs in rebounds (3), assists (2), and steals (2) all on multiple occasions.
 
Notaro, a business major, played in 23 games for the Belles while starting in 13. She led the team in steals (39) while ranking second in points (224, field goals made (78), and free throws made (65). Notaro also posted double-digit points in 11 games while she scored a career high 18 against Webster. She also posted her first collegiate double-double with 14 points and 14 rebounds in the win over Earlham.
 
The Belles as a team finished the year with an 8-17 overall record and a 3-13 MIAA record in their second season under the direction of Head Coach Rob Hoffman.
