Rob Hoffman, was named the Head Coach of the Saint Mary's Basketball program in 2024, moves into his second season at the helm of the Belles.

Hoffman comes to Saint Mary’s from fellow Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association member Trine University where he has been a member of the Women’s Basketball coaching staff since 2017. Hoffman served as the Associate Head Coach since 2021 and was an Assistant coach prior. Last season, Hoffman helped lead the Thunder to a 22-8 (12-4 MIAA) record including three wins over top-ten ranked teams, a conference championship, and a trip to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Since his return to the program, the Thunder captured four MIAA Regular Season Championships, a MIAA Tournament Championship, made five appearances in the NCAA Tournament, reached the NCAA Regional Semifinals three times and made the NCAA National Championship Semifinals in 2021-22.

In his first season (2025), Hoffman would lead the Belles to a 6-19 overall and 3-13 MIAA record. The Belles would see improvements in multiple statistics including field goal percentage, three point percentage, forced turnovers, steals, and points allowed. He would also help coach senior Julia Schutz to an MIAA Player of the Week honor.

A graduate of Trine, Hoffman served as a Student Assistant from 2013-16 where he played a major role in turning the program around, including a trip to the MIAA finals and two All-MIAA players. He then spent the 2016-17 season as a Graduate Assistant with the Florida State University Men’s Basketball program where he helped take the team to the second round of the NCAA Tournament and had three players drafted to the NBA. Hoffman also earned his Master of Science degree in Sport Management from Florida State.
