OLIVET, Mich. - Saint Mary's College Basketball fell to the University of Olivet, 68-63, in the season finale on Saturday. The Belles fall to 8-17 (3-13 MIAA) while the Comets improve to 3-22 (1-15 MIAA).
The two teams traded baskets early on before Saint Mary's got out to an early two possession lead. After trailing, Olivet went on an 11-3 run to take the lead heading into the first break, 15-13. Junior Kate Restovich (St. Louis, MO) led the team with six points in the quarter after knocking down two three pointers.

The Belles defense showed up in the second quarter as they outscored the Comets, 13-6, to head into halftime with a 26-21 lead. Freshman Liv Fry (Fort Wayne, IN) scored four points in the quarter to tie Restovich for a team high of six while sophomore Kate Passinault (Grand Rapids, MI) led the game with five rebounds in the first half.

Olivet came out strong in the second half. The Comets outscored the Belles, 24-16, in the third quarter to head into the final ten minutes with a 45-42 lead. Restovich and senior Hannah Outlaw (Jones, MI) moved into double figures in the quarter, Restovich with 11 and Outlaw with 10.

The two teams battled back and forth in the fourth quarter, trading baskets one after another. After Restovich was fouled on a three-point shot, she knocked down all three free throws to tie the game at 62. Olivet would use a couple forced turnovers to close out the game, 68-63.

Restovich led the team with 17 points on the day while Outlaw added 14 off the bench. Outlaw and Passinault both grabbed six rebounds to lead the team while Restovich and Fry both grabbed five. Outlaw also led the team with five assists and Fry snagged three steals.
