NOTRE DAME, Ind. - Saint Mary's College Lacrosse junior
Rachel Speckhard (Munster, IN) and STUNT sophomore
Bella Arreola (Brookfield, IL) were named Belles Athletes of the Week.
In the 12-5 win over North Central, Speckhard led the Belles with four goals and nabbed one assist for five points on the night. She also totalled six shots and five shots on goal to help lead the Belles to continue their undefeated start to the season. The Saint Mary's offense outshot North Central 36-23 and 23-14 in shots on goal.
Arreola played a vital role for the Belles all weekend long, competing in every partner stunt routine. She helped the Belles tackle partner stunt seven while working as the main base. She also played a pivotal role in debuting pyramid five for the first time, becoming the first and only NCAA Division III team to play and/or score points in that routine this season.
Speckhard and the Belles continue Florida play with matches against New College of Florida on Tuesday and Warner University on Saturday.
Arreola and Belles STUNT take on the Pacific Northwest Open on Friday and Saturday. The Belles will take on Northwest Nazarene University, George Fox University, Texas Woman's University, and Hope International University.
