FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. - Saint Mary's College Softball sophomores
Talia Jorgensen (St Paul, MN) and
Aubrey Zachary (Granger, IN) swept the MIAA weekly honors this past week. Jorgensen won Position Player of the Week honors and Zachary won Pitcher of the Week honors.

This is the first time being honored for both players as they led the team to a 2-2 record last week with a win over Adrian College and Albion College.

Jorgensen led the team offensively, tallying eight hits and hitting .615 on the week and knocked in two runs. She also added a triple against Albion. This was her team-leading sixth triple of the season, tied for the third most in a season for a Belle. On the bases, Jorgensen led the team with four stolen bases and came in to score five times. Defensively, she played as an anchor for the Belles infield. In 12 chances, she added a 1.000 fielding percentage with nine putouts.

Zachary continued her dominating season with two more wins, going 2-0 on the week. In her wins over Adrian and Albion, Zachary tossed back-to-back complete games with 12 total innings pitched. In her two starts, she allowed just one run and four total hits allowed. Against the Britons, she tallied her third start this season without allowing a walk. Zachary continued to improve her strikeout numbers as she totaled 13 on the week, seven against Adrian and six against Albion. This was her third and fourth time striking out six or more in a game and the third game in a row.
