Belles Claim First MACC Title

OLIVET, Mich. - Saint Mary's College STUNT took home the first ever MACC Championship with a 16-0 win over Buena Vista University on Sunday. The Belles improve to 9-11 while the Beavers fall to 6-7 after the tournament.
 
The first quarter started slow for both teams as Saint Mary's claimed the lone point in the quarter in round two to head into the first break with a 1-0 lead. The Belles came out hot in the second quarter as they would take wins in three of the four rounds to head into halftime with a strong 4-0 lead. The Belles took points in rounds one, two, and four in routines three, two, and one.
 
Saint Mary's stayed hot coming out of the halftime break as they took three more rounds in quarter three. As the Belles showed their strength in the jumps and tumbling quarter, they took wins in rounds one, three, and four. The Belles were successful in routines one, two, and four to go into the fourth quarter leading 7-0.
 
Saint Mary's continued their dominant game plan as they would win all four rounds in the fourth quarter including sweeps in rounds one and four. The Belles outscored the Beavers 9-0 in the final quarter as Saint Mary's secured the first ever MACC Championship title.
 
The Belles dominated all weekend long, outscoring their opponents 41-2 on the weekend. The Belles will look to take this momentum into the national postseason in late April.
 
UP NEXT FOR THE BELLES
Saint Mary's will have one more regular season trip as they head to Big Rapids, MI on April 12 to take on the Ferris State Tournament. The Belles will face Quincy University and Central Michigan University.
 
The Belles will then prepare for their second straight STUNT Nationals appearance on April 23-26 in Nashville, TN.
