OLIVET, Mich. - Saint Mary's College STUNT advanced to the MACC Championship match with back-to-back wins on Saturday, defeating St. Norbert College, 11-2, and Buena Vista University, 14-0.

Saint Mary's came out strong out of the gates, taking both rounds in the first quarter to take an early 2-0 lead. The Belles extended their lead with a win in round two of quarter two to head into halftime with an early 3-0 lead. 

The Belles stayed hot in quarter three as they took both rounds in quarter three to extend their lead to five. In round one of quarter four, St. Norbert would take two points in the partner stunts routine while Saint Mary's was awarded one point. The Belles would then take wins in both jumps and tumbling and pyramids and tosses to win the round, 3-2. They then swept the second round to close out the first match of the day, 11-2.

Saint Mary's vs Buena Vista

The first quarter was a slow start for both teams as Saint Mary's took the lone point in the quarter in round two, routine one, to send them ahead 1-0 at the first break. After no points were awarded in round one of quarter two, but the Belles would follow that up with three straight round victories to head into halftime with a 4-0 advantage.

Saint Mary's came out and took two more wins in rounds one and three in quarter three to extend their lead to 6-0. The Belles continued their strong performance as they blanked the Beavers the rest of the way, outscoring them 8-0 in the fourth quarter. The Belles won all four rounds while also winning all three routines in rounds one and four, taking the match 14-0.

UP NEXT FOR THE BELLES

Saint Mary's advanced to the MACC Championship through the winners bracket with their win over Buena Vista on Saturday. The championship game will take place on Sunday, March 29, at noon as the Belles will take on the winner of Buena Vista and the University of Olivet. The Beavers and Comets will face off at 10:30am tomorrow morning.
