Belles Close Out Pacific Northwest Open

NEWBERG, Ore. - Saint Mary's College STUNT fell in their final two games at the Pacific Northwest Open on Saturday, 20-11 to Texas Woman's University and 21-1 to Hope International University. The Belles fall to 4-11 on the season.

Saint Mary's vs Texas Woman's

Texas Woman's took three quick points in the first two rounds of the game before Saint Mary's was able to win the third round and go into the first break trailing just 3-2. The Pioneers came out with a strong second quarter, winning three rounds. The Belles were able to take the win in routine one during round two, but went into the halftime break down 6-3.

The Pioneers dominated the third quarter, outscoring the Belles, 5-1, while winning all four rounds to pull away from the Belles. Saint Mary's came out strong in the first round of the fourth quarter, winning the round 4-2 in routine one. Texas Woman's would bounce right back and win the second and third rounds by a combined 6-2 before both teams would split a point in round three. Giving the Pioneers the 20-11 victory.

Saint Mary's vs Hope International

Hope International dominated the match early, winning all eight rounds in the first half to go into halftime with an 8-0 lead. Saint Mary's had a strong start to the second half, winning the first round of the jumps and tumbling quarter, impressively in routine seven. But this would be the only round that the Belles won in the game. The Royals would win six of the next seven rounds, no points were awarded in quarter four round three, while also being awarded a technical foul point midway through the quarter, taking their 21-1 victory.

UP NEXT FOR THE BELLES

Saint Mary's is back in action on Saturday, March 21, as they head to Ashland, OH to compete in the Ashland University Tournament. The Belles will take on both Walsh University and Misericordia University.
