NOTRE DAME, Ind. - Saint Mary's College STUNT earned two dominant wins on Saturday on day two of the Valentine's Tournament, defeating Maryville College, 14-2, and defeating Centenary College (LA), 19-8. The Belles improved to 3-3 on the year with the two wins.
Saint Mary's vs Maryville
The Belles had a strong first half, taking points in each round while taking two in round two of the second quarter to go into halftime with a 5-1 lead. The Belles swept the first three rounds of the game to take an early 3-0 lead before the final round of the second quarter.
While Maryville would take one point the first round of the third quarter, the Belles took two right back and would take the next seven points to close out the match. The Belles showed their dominance in the jumps and tumbling quarter. Saint Mary's also put on a great performance in the fourth quarter, shutting out the Scots and taking all six available points.
Saint Mary's vs Centenary
Saint Mary's started the match strong, taking three rounds in the first quarter on routines one, two, and three to head into the first break with a 3-0 lead. Centenary would bounce back with a big second quarter, scoring five points in the four rounds. The Belles took points in the second and fourth rounds to even the score at 5-5 heading into the halftime break.
The Belles dominated the third quarter's jumps and tumbling, taking five total points and going into the final break with a 10-6 lead. The Belles took the first three rounds in clean fashion before both teams being scored within two deductions of each other in round four, giving Saint Mary's two points and Centenary one.
Saint Mary's continued their domination in the fourth quarter, taking nine points and winning all four rounds to finish off their 19-8 victory. The Belles second half was dominating as they took a 5-5 halftime score and outscored the Ladies 14-3 in the second half while winning all eight rounds.
At halftime of the Centenary game, Saint Mary's honored their three seniors in the graduating class of 2026. The Belles honored seniors
Sophie Allen (Osceola, IN) and
Lucy Hall (South Bend, IN) and junior
Nae Chandler (Kankakee, IL).

Saint Mary's concludes their Valentine's Tournament with two matches on Sunday, starting at 1pm when they host St. Edwards University and closing out the tournament with a 2:30pm match against the University of Michigan.
