NOTRE DAME, Ind. - Saint Mary's College Basketball freshman
Liv Fry (Fort Wayne, IN) was named Belles Athlete of the Week after two impressive performances and helping the Belles secure an MIAA victory.
Fry played a key role in the Belles 63-53 win over Adrian College on Wednesday. She tied a team high with 11 points in the game and knocked down four free throws and a big three pointer at the end of the game to secure the win over the Bulldogs. Fry tied a career-high with two three-pointers in the game, going 2-2, while also knocking down five of her six free throws. She also finished the game as the team's second highest rebounder with six as Saint Mary's outrebounded Adrian, 38-34. She also snagged two of the team's 12 steals on the night.
In the Saturday loss to Albion College, Fry finished as the Belles second leading scorer with 10 points while shooting an impressive 4-6 from the field and knocking down two more three pointers. She also dished out three assists and snagged two more steals. Her ten point performance brought her season point total into the triple digits as she sits on 100 points heading into the final six games.
Fry and the Belles get a restful start to their week as they won't see the floor until Saturday, January 31, when they head to Grand Rapids, MI to take on Calvin University. When the Knights came to Saint Mary's on December 3, it was a back and forth battle that saw Calvin win narrowly, 61-57.
