ALMA, Mich. - Saint Mary's College Basketball took down conference opponent Alma College on Saturday afternoon, 66-62. This beats out their previous season record, improving to 6-17 (3-11 MIAA) while the Scots fall to 13-14 (9-8 MIAA).
Saint Mary's got off to a hot start leading the Scots, 22-12 to give them a momentous lead. The Belles trailed for only 54 seconds the entire game in the first quarter with senior Julia Schutz (Dyer, IN) making the first jumper at 9:29 where the Belles never looked back.
Alma attempted to break the deficit but fell short as the Belles went to the locker room with an 11 point lead, 40-29. Schutz would bring her point total to 11 on the game with five other Belles getting on the board.
The Saint Mary's duo of sophomores Kate and Annie Restovich (Wildwood, MO) racked up 12 points in the third quarter each to take a 55-44 lead. Both team would shoot above 30% in the quarter with Alma having a slight edge.
While the Scots would outscore the Belles in the final quarter, Saint Mary's would hold onto their lead through the remainder of the game. Saint Mary's would finish the game shooting 35% from the field and 40% from three-point.
Kate Restovich would lead the game with 21 on the day shooting 50% from the three point line. Schutz gets a double-double tallying 14 points and 12 rebounds making this her third double-double of the season. Annie Restovich would add 12 points of her own while senior Lauren Gumma (Troy, MI) would add nine. Schutz would also dish out a game high six assists.

Saint Mary's will finish their season with two home games. The Belles take on Albion College on Wednesday, February 19th at 7PM and finish with Adrian College on Saturday, February 22nd to honor their two seniors, Julia Schutz and Lauren Gumma on Senior Day.
