ANGOLA, Ind. - Saint Mary's College Soccer fell to Trine University on Saturday, 4-1, in their penultimate regular season game. The Belles fall to 8-4-3 (2-4-1 MIAA) while the Thunder improved to 8-4-4 (4-2-1 MIAA).
Trine got out to a quick start, scoring two goals in the first five minutes to take an early 2-0 lead. The Thunder didn't slow down as they added to their lead just 10 minutes later. Trine added one more goal before halftime in the 44th minute to go into the break with a 4-0 lead.
Saint Mary's tallied seven shots in the first half with three shots on goal. Freshman Mia Johnson (Mission Viejo, CA) led with two shots in the half.
While both defenses held strong throughout the second half, the Belles got themselves on the board in the 85th minute off a goal from sophomore Isabella Kreydich (Tinley Park, IL) to cancel the Thunder's shutout.
Kreydich and Johnson led the team with three shots each while senior Grace Reyda (Penfield, NY) added two of the Belles 12 shots. Kreydich, Johnson and Reyda, along with seniors Ava Slater (Fort Wayne, IN) and Janelle Aiello (Plymouth, MI) and freshman Bella Musachio (Rochester Hills, MI) each added a shot on goal.
Sophomore goalkeeper Keona Caraballo (Parma, OH) made four saves on the day.

Saint Mary's closes out the regular season on Tuesday, October 28, as they travel to Hope College for a 4pm kickoff.
