HOLLAND, Mich. - Saint Mary's College Soccer fell to Hope College, 4-0, on Tuesday in the regular season finale. The Belles finish the season 8-5-3 (2-5-1 MIAA) while the Flying Dutch finish 12-3-2 (7-1 MIAA).
Hope got on the board in the eighth minute to take the early lead and never looked back. The Flying Dutch tacked on to their lead with two goals in a four minute span to head into halftime with a 3-0 advantage.
The Saint Mary's defense held strong in the second half, not allowing Hope to extend their lead any further.
Senior Ava Slater (Fort Wayne, IN) led the team with two shots while junior Layne Ridderman (Augusta, MI) and sophomores Danielle Escobedo (Yorba Linda, CA) and Isabella Kreydich (Tinley Park, IL) each tallied a shot. Escobedo and Kreydich both tallied a shot on goal each.
Sophomore goalkeeper Keona Caraballo (Parma, OH) made a career high eight saves in the game.
