FARMINGTON, Mo. - Saint Mary's College Golf finished their second tournament of the spring with a T6th place finish at the WashU Spring Invite. The Belles finished with a 326-320 final scoring.
 
Senior Amanda Melling (East Lansing, MI) led the team with a T11 finish after shooting 79-74 (+9). Melling tallied four birdies on the weekend, including birdieing the par-five first hole in both rounds. She added a birdie on the par-five fifth in round one and the par-four sixth in round two. In round two, she was even par or better for the first 11 holes of the day and was only a maximum one-over for 16 holes.
 
Sophomore Melanie Maier (Richmond, TX) followed Melling with a T24th finish after shooting 82-77 (+15) on the two rounds. Maier would eagle the par-five first hole in her first round and added a birdie on the par-three 16th hole on her last hole of the tournament. Senior Julia Lizak (Riverview, MI) finished in T36th place after shooting 81-83 (+20) on the weekend. Lizak would also birdie her last hole of the tournament, the par-five 15th hole.
 
Sophomore Colleen Hand (Royal Oak, MI) finished in 68th place after shooting 90-86 (+32) on the two-day event. Hand started her second round strong as she pared the first six holes of the day. Freshman Katharine Swain (South Bend, IN) followed right behind Hand, finishing in T69th place after shooting 84-93 (+33). Swain started her first round hot, after a birdie on the par-four second hole saw her one-under through her first six holes of the tournament.

Saint Mary's gets back on the course on April 11-12 at the Illinois Wesleyan Spring Invitational at Ironwood Golf Course in Normal, IL. The Belles will then wrap up the regular season at the Trine Spring Classic on April 17-18 at both Zollner Golf Course and Glendarin Hills Golf Course in Angola, IN.
