FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. - Saint Mary's College Golf senior
Amanda Melling (East Lansing, MI) was named MIAA Golfer of the Week after her performance at the MIAA Championships this past weekend.

Melling led the team as the tournament champions, shooting a one-over 145 after carding rounds of 72-73. She tallied six birdies on the tournament, adding three in each round. After getting out to a two-over par score in round one, Melling got hot across her final nine holes, adding her three birdies to finish her second nine two-under par. The script was similar in round two, this time she added three birdies across her final 15 holes, while birdieing her final hole of the tournament, along with 11 pars.Â

Melling finished the season as the third lowest qualified scorer in the MIAA with an average of 77.17 in six MIAA competitions. Her performance earned her All-MIAA First Team honors for the first time in her career and the second time earning All-MIAA honors (Second Team in 2024).

As a team, the Belles had a lights out performance at the MIAA Championships, taking home their third consecutive MIAA Title. The Belles shot a 307 on the first team, setting their lowest score of the season, before firing an incredible 299 on Saturday, the now lowest round score of the season. The team finished the weekend with a 606 total score, setting the program record for a 36-hole score in a tournament.

Melling and the Belles will now prepare for their third straight NCAA Division III Championships appearance beginning on May 19th. The championships will take place at Desert Willow Golf Resort in Palm Desert, CA.
