ALMA, Mich. - Saint Mary's College Basketball fell to Alma College, 80-50, on Sunday. The Belles fall to 7-16 (2-12 MIAA) while the Scots improve to 10-13 (6-8 MIAA).

Saint Mary's started the game out slowly, going into the first break, trailing 22-11 to open the game. The Belles outrebounded the Scots, 12-9 in the quarter. Senior
Nicole Connolly (Mokena, IL) led the team with five points after knocking down a three pointer towards the end of the quarter.

Alma continued to control the second quarter as they used an 11-0 run early in the quarter to extend their lead to 20. The Belles bounced back at the end of the quarter, finishing on a 9-2 run to head into halftime with a 43-28 deficit. Senior
Hannah Outlaw (Jones, MI) led the team in points, heading into the break with 10 points.

The Scots opened the half on a 12-0 run to extend their lead quickly. Alma continued to shut down the Belles in the half and went into the final quarter with a 64-39 lead. Outlaw led the team with 14 points.

Both teams struggled to find the bottom of the net in the fourth quarter as Alma closed out their 80-50 victory.

Outlaw led the team with 16 points on 5-8 shooting from the field and knocking down six free throws. Freshman
Liv Fry (Fort Wayne, IN) finished the game with nine points while sophomore
Ella Andree (Spring Lake, MI) finished with seven. Outlaw and sophomore
Kate Passinault (Grand Rapids, MI) grabbed four rebounds each while Outlaw dished out three assists and snagged three steals.

UP NEXT FOR THE BELLES
Saint Mary's returns home for the final time on Wednesday, February 18, as they host Kalamazoo College at 7pm. The Belles then close out the season on Saturday, February 21, as they travel to the University of Olivet.
