BIG RAPIDS, Mich. - Saint Mary's College Golf took on the Bulldog Fall Classic this weekend, hosted by Ferris State University in Big Rapids, MI. As the only NCAA Division III school competing amongst the top Division II programs in the region, the Belles would finish in 11th place after totaling a 660 as a team, shooting 331-329 across the two day tournament.
Sophomore Melanie Maier (Richmond, TX) would lead the Belles with a T21 finish after carding a 157 (+13), shooting 81-76. Maier would shoot a 37 on the back nine on both days. That would be the nine-hole low on the tournament for the Belles.
Junior Colleen Hand (Royal Oak, MI) would follow closely behind Maier with a T35 finish after carding a 161 (+17), shooting 80-81 over the two days. Hands first-round 80 was the lowest of the day for the Belles.
Seniors Amanda Melling (East Lansing, MI) and Breana Harrington (Pinellas Park, FL) would follow, Melling finishing in 60th place after shooting a 167 (+23), 85-82, while Harrington would follow with a T67 finish after carding a 175 (+31), shooting 85-90. Melling would also lead the Belles with three birdies on the weekend, two in round one and one in round two.
Sophomore Ella Notaro (Crystal Lake, IL) would make her sophomore debut for Saint Mary's. Notaro would finish 74th in her first event of the fall after totalling a 179 (+35), carding 86-93. Freshman Katharine Swain (South Bend, IN) would round out the competitors for the Belles, finishing T76 as an individual. Swain would tally a 182 (+38) on the weekend, shooting 93-89.

Saint Mary's makes a quick turn around as they head to Marshall, MI to take on the second MIAA Jamboree of the fall at The Medalist Club. The Belles competed at The Medalist Club to open the season at the Kyle Campbell Memorial Tournament where the Belles took home a second place finish.
