ANDERSON, Ind. - Saint Mary's College Soccer took home a 1-1 draw against Anderson University on Wednesday evening. The Belles keep their unbeaten start alive and move to 5-0-1 while the Ravens move to 2-2-2.
The Saint Mary's would continue to control the ball similarly as they have all season in the first half. The Belles would outshoot the Ravens 13-1 in the first half but were unable to find the back of the net.
The Belles would force the Anderson goalkeeper to make three saves in the first half after peppering the Ravens defense. Senior Janelle Aiello () would lead the team with three shots in the first half while three other Belles tallied multiple shots.
The Saint Mary's offense would stay strong to start the second half, tallying three shots before Anderson would get on the board with a goal in the 53rd minute. This was the first time all season that the Belles had trailed at any point during a game.
Saint Mary's would continue to test the Anderson goalkeeper all night long, eventually, junior Layne Ridderman () would find the back of the net in the 73rd minute off a pass from freshman Bella Musachio () to tie the game at one a piece.
The Belles continued to throw shots at the Ravens defense but a strong showing from the Ravens goalkeeper kept the match even until the final whistle. Finishing the match tied at one each, keeping the Belles unbeaten start to the season alive.
Freshman Mia Johnson (Mission Viejo, CA) would lead the Belles with seven total shots while sophomore Isabella Kreydich (Tinley Park, IL) would add five of her own. Aiello, Musachio and seniors Ava Slater () and Grace Reyda () would add three shots each. Musachio and Kreydich would each lead the team with two shots on goal. Freshman goalkeeper Keona Caraballo (Parma, OH) would make two saves on three shots faced on the night.
The Belles would outshoot the Ravens 30-8 overall but only 8-3 in shots on goal. Saint Mary's has tallied double-digit shots in every game so far and this is the second time tallying 30 or more. They have also allowed less than 10 shots in every game. The Belles would also tally four corner kicks to the Ravens zero.Â

Saint Mary's returns home for back-to-back matches as they host Wheaton College on Friday at 6pm and will host Earlham College on Wednesday, September 24, at 4pm. The game against Wheaton will also be the Belles Headstrong Cancer Dedication game.
