ADRIAN, Mich. - Saint Mary's College Softball fell in both games of their mid-week double header at Adrian College on Thursday, falling in game one 11-0 in five innings and falling in game two 11-0 in five innings. The Belles fall to 8-16 (2-8 MIAA) while the Bulldogs improve to 23-12 (9-4 MIAA)
Game One
Adrian would get on the board early with a run in the bottom of the first inning before adding six more runs in the bottom of the second. The Saint Mary's offense would struggle throughout the game before the Bulldogs would add four more runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to close out their five inning, 11-0, win.
Freshman Talia Jorgensen (St. Paul, MN) and sophomore Laura Heim (Howards Grove, WI) would hit back-to-back singles to open the game in the first inning, but those would be the only two hits the Belles would get.
Freshman Faith Dean (Monroe, MI) would be the pitcher of record, throwing two innings and allowing seven runs on six hits. Sophomore Sammy Schrader (Romeoville, IL) and freshman Ashlyn Yeo (Jackson, MI) would both enter the game in relief. Schrader throwing 1.1 innings, allowing three runs on six hits, while Yeo would throw 0.2 innings, allowing one run on two hits.
Game Two
Adrian would continue to dominate offensively early, scoring four runs in the first, three in the second, and four more in the third. The Saint Mary's offense would struggle offensively, going 3-16 at the plate, as they would fall in the same fashion as game one, 11-0 in five innings.
Jorgensen would record two hits on the game, going 2-2 at the plate, while senior Alexis Rauch (Cassopolis, MI) would record the other Belles hit.
Junior Sam Mikitka (Naperville, IL) would be the pitcher of record, throwing 2.2 innings, allowing 11 runs (nine earned) on eight hits. Yeo would make her second appearance of the day, shutting down the Bulldogs offense late in the game, throwing 2.1 hitless innings of work.

Saint Mary's returns home for their home finale on Saturday, April 26, as they host Calvin University for a double header starting at 12pm. The Belles will celebrate Senior Day between the two games, honoring senior Alexis Rauch. The Belles will finish their season with back-to-back road series, visiting Hope College on April 30 and finishing the season at Albion College on May 2.
