Belles Celebrate Senior Day During Season Finale

NOTRE DAME, Ind. - Saint Mary's College Basketball fell to Adrian College in the season finale on Saturday, 82-71. The Belles fall to 6-19 (3-13 MIAA) while the Bulldogs improve to 7-18 (6-10 MIAA).

Saint Mary's would come out hot in the first quarter as they would go into the first break with an 18-10 lead.  The Belles would hit four three pointers in the quarter as sophomore Kate Restovich (Wildwood, MO) would lead the way with six points while junior Nicole Connolly (Mokena, IL) would add five.

Both teams would get hot in the second quarter, both shooting above 40%, but Adrian would slip ahead and take a one point lead at the halftime break, 38-37. Senior Julia Schutz (Dyer, IN) would put up eight points in the quarter to bring her total to 10 while Connolly would double her total to 10 points as well.

Both teams would come out of the halftime break red hot, shooting above 50% each from the field in the third quarter, as Adrian would take a 64-57 lead going into the final quarter. Schutz would move up to 16 points while Restovich would move into double figures with 12.

While Saint Mary's would try and mount a comeback, the Bulldogs would hold them off to secure the win, 82-71. The Belles would finish the season shooting 39% from the field while shooting 37% from the three point line.

Schutz would lead the team with 21 points while Connolly would finish with 15 and Restovich with 12. Restovich would also finish with a team high four rebounds and five assists. Senior Lauren Gumma (Troy, MI) would snag a career high five steals.
