NOTRE DAME, Ind. - Saint Mary's College Basketball fell to Elmhurst University, 74-55, at home on Saturday afternoon. The Belles fall to 4-7 on the year while the Blue Jays improve to 6-3.

While Saint Mary's struggled to find the bottom of the basket in the first, Elmhurst was able to shoot 50% from the field in the quarter to get out to a big 21-10 lead early. Four Belles got on the scoresheet in the quarter as the team knocked down just four shots and two three-pointers in the first ten minutes.

The second quarter was more of the same story. The difference was brought down to just two, but the Blue Jays went into the break with a 38-25 lead. Junior
Kate Restovich (St. Louis, MO) led the team with eight points at halftime while sophomore
Ella Notaro (Crystal Lake, IL) and freshman
Caroline Langworthy (Cincinnati, OH) added five each.

The third quarter stayed close as Elmhurst continued to shoot above 50% from the field while Saint Mary's had their best shooting quarter, shooting 42%. The Blue Jays continued to keep the Belles at bay as they went into the final quarter with a 53-39 advantage. Restovich moved up to 12 points on the night while Notaro joined her in double figures with 10.Â

The Belles outshot the Blue Jays for the first time in the fourth quarter, 50%-45%. But Elmhurst used their 10 free throw attempts to close out the quarter and game as they took home the 74-55 victory.

Restovich and Notaro both led the team with 16 points each while Langworthy added 10 of her own. Sophomore
Kate Passinault (Grand Rapids, MI) grabbed a team high five rebounds in her return to the court while Restovich, Passinault, and freshman
Liv Fry (Fort Wayne, IN) each dished out three assists.

UP NEXT FOR THE BELLES
Saint Mary's closes out the 2025 calendar year as they host Earlham College on December 30 with tipoff set for 2:30pm. The Belles then return to MIAA play as they travel to Trine University on January 3.
