GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Saint Mary's College Volleyball fell to Calvin University, 3-0, in Grand Rapids, MI on Tuesday night. The Belles fall to 12-6 (0-4 MIAA) while the Knights improve to 17-3 (2-1 MIAA)
 
Saint Mary's kept the first set close early on, trading points with Calvin. The Knights used multiple short little runs to pull away from the Belles, and closed the set on a 5-0 run to take the first set, 25-13.
 
Calvin got out to a quick six point lead to open the second set. While Saint Mary's brought the deficit down to just three, the Knights went on an 8-1 run to extend their lead to ten and never looked back. While Saint Mary's tried to bounce back at the end, Calvin took advantage of back-to-back service aces to close out the set, 25-14, and take a 2-0 lead.
 
The Belles started to find their groove early in the third set as both teams would trade points and stay level with one another throughout the set. The Knights started to pull away, taking two or three points every time Saint Mary's took one. Calvin used a 10-3 run to close the set, winning 25-16, and closing out the match 3-0.
 
Sophomore Kalli Lewkowski (Spring Lake, MI) led the team with six kills while senior Grace Braselton (Grand Rapids, MI) and junior Caroline Carens (Naperville, IL) tallied five each. Sophomore Giuliana Graczyk (Chicago, IL) led the team with 12 assists while junior Abby Reese (Elkhart, IN) totaled eight. Senior Kali Fegan (Orland Park, IL) led the team with 10 digs while Reese and freshman Shannon Rudge (Granger, IN) had eight.

Saint Mary's concludes the road swing on Friday as they travel to Elmhurst University for an 8pm EST matchup. The Belles return home on Wednesday, October 22, as they host Adrian College at 7pm.
