HOLLAND, Mich. - Saint Mary's College fell to 24th ranked Hope College 82-39 on Saturday evening. The Belles fall to 3-7 (0-2 MIAA) while the Flying Dutch improve to 8-2 (3-0 MIAA)
Hope got out to an early lead in the first quarter as they used a 15-0 run to open the game before going into the first break up 22-7. Saint Mary's would go 3 for 13 from the field in the quarter with over half of their attempts coming from beyond the three point line as they went 1 for 7.
The Flying Dutch continued to extend their lead as they would go into the halftime break with a 46-18 advantage. Seven of the eight Belles to see the floor in the first half found themselves on the scoresheet while senior Julia Schutz (Dyer, IN) led the team with four points.
Hope continued to dominate in the third quarter, as they used a 19-5 run to extend their lead to 67-25 after 30 minutes of play. Sophomore Kate Restovich (Wildwood, MO) moved into double-digit points to lead the team with 10.
Hope slowed down in the fourth quarter as they would cruise to their third MIAA win of the year, 82-39. The Flying Dutch outshot the Belles 49% to 30% and 40% to 27% from three point.
Kate Restovich led the team with 13 points while sophomore Annie Restovich (Wildwood, MO) added six and Schutz added five. Schutz would also grab a team high five rebounds while freshman Kori Dues (Noblesville, IN) grabbed four. Freshman Ella Notaro (Crystal Lake, IL) would dish out a team high three assists.

Saint Mary's finished out 2024 on the road on December 21 as they travel to take on Elmhurst University for a 3pm EST start time. The Belles return home to open 2025 as they host Trine University for an MIAA matchup on January 4 with tipoff set for 1pm.
