NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. - The Saint Mary's volleyball team battled but came up short in a 3-2 (25-18, 25-18, 21-25, 23-25, 15-8) final against IU-Northwest and in a 3-1 (25-23, 25-18, 21-25, 25-22) contest against Franklin at Manchester University on Friday night.
In the second match of the night, McCarthy again led the offensive efforts with 14 kills. Shields added 11 kills on a .440 hitting effort. Delany Martin and
Grace Braselton each put down five kills.
Courtney Pelletier led the team with 10 digs against the Grizzlies.
Remington Vincent had 16 assists while
Karla Rigan added 11 assists.
The Belles (3-7) begin conference play on Tuesday when they host Kalamazoo at 6:30 p.m.
