NOTRE DAME, Ind. - Saint Mary's College Soccer fell to Anderson University on Wednesday night, 1-0. The Belles fall to 2-2 while the Ravens improve to 2-1.
While Saint Mary's controlled possession for the majority of the first half, the offense couldn't get it going as both teams finished with just two shots in the first half. The Belles had the advantage in corner kicks for the first 45 minutes with two while not allowing the Ravens to take one.
Saint Mary's continued to control possession in the second half, but after a foul just inside the penalty box, Anderson converted to take a 1-0 lead in the 63rd minute and held on throughout the remainder of the game. Saint Mary's outshot Anderson 10-3 in the second half and 12-5 overall.
Freshman Lily Larimer (Pittsford, NY) led the team with three shots while both juniors Isabella Kreydich (Tinley Park, IL) and Danielle Escobedo (Yorba Linda, CA) had two each. Larimer and Escobedo had two shots on goal each.
Sophomore goalkeeper Meghan Krayer (Hinsdale, IL) made two saves on the night.
