Sam Ziemke

  • Title
    STUNT Strength Coach

Sam Ziemke joins the Saint Mary's College staff as their Strength and Conditioning Coach, bringing a strength and conditioning background built across Division I and Division II programs. His approach starts with measurement rather than prescription: test first, understand what an athlete actually needs, then build the plan around that instead of around a template.

Ziemke spent the 2018 season at Boston University as a Strength and Conditioning Coach, where he led daily training for more than 100 athletes across men's ice hockey and women's field hockey, along with 27 NHL players training on campus during the offseason. Working across that range, from first-year collegians to established professionals, sharpened his use of systematic testing protocols to build individualized development plans and track progress across a full training cycle.

Prior to Boston, he was recruited to the University of Wisconsin-Madison as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach, supporting men's wrestling, men's and women's swimming and diving, and women's volleyball.

Ziemke earned his M.S. in Leadership Education and Sports Management from Winona State University in 2018, where he also served as a Graduate Assistant in strength and conditioning. He completed his B.S. in Kinesiology at Winona State in 2015, working as an intern and later intern coordinator at the university's Integrated Wellness Center.
