Belles Place Sixth at MIAA Jamboree

ALMA, Mich. - The Saint Mary's cross country team finished in sixth place at the MIAA Jamboree, which was hosted by Alma on Saturday afternoon.

Ninth-ranked Calvin won the event with a team score of 29 while 15th-ranked Hope was second with a 47. Albion was third with a 94. The Belles turned in a team score of 147 and were 13 points behind fifth-place Trine.

Brittany Beeler continued to pace the Belles as the senior finished ninth overall in a time of 22:40.4. Anna McClowry posted a personal record time of 24:08.5 to finish 40th overall while earning 30 points toward the team score. Kaitlyn Alessi was the next Belle to cross the finish line and posted a time of 24:22.5 to finish 45th overall and earn 33 team points. Caitlin Blum and Adele Edmonds finished back-to-back with times of 24:42.0 and 24:44.0, respectively, to finish 55th and 56th while collecting 37 and 38 team points to wrap up the score.

Reilly Pieri was just a few seconds behind as the junior posted a personal record time of 24:49.8 to finish 58th. Maura Honan ran a 25:00.7 for 63rd, and Katie Glenn finished a pack of Saint Mary's efforts with a 25:02.8 for 65th.

Mary Philbin crossed the finish line with a time of 25:12.1 for 67th. Aubrey Penn posted a 25:37.5 for 74th place overall while Colleen Ogren ran a 25:48.2 for 79th place. Maggie Pacana had a time of 25:54.1, which put her 81st overall. Jen Kreighbaum finished the race in 26:00.3 for 87th.

Kathryn Marshall ran a 26:23.4 to finish 97th, and Sarah Allen was right behind with a 26:27.0 for 98th. Fiona Winfrey posted a 26:38.4 for 104th, and Mary Favo rounded out the performances for the Belles with a 27:38.5 for 118th.

The Belles are back on the course in a week when travel south for the Louisville Classic on Saturday, October 1.
