Get up and get involved. Club sports are a great chance to be part of our active community.
Club sports are jointly regulated and organized by the Saint Mary's Office of Student Involvement and Athletic Department. Each club has a student president of the club and an advisor. Saint Mary's club sports are also open to Notre Dame and Holy Cross students depending on the sport's specific rules and guidelines. Learn more about each club sport below.
The cheerleading squad performs at home Saint Mary's basketball contests. The group also performs at various special events throughout the year. Try outs are held each fall and are open to all Saint Mary's students. Practices are organized and run by student organizers.

The sailing club competes in the Midwest Collegiate Sailing Association. Practice is held on Notre Dame’s St. Joseph’s Lake and nearby Eagle Lake. Lessons are offered for first-time sailors and sailors of all skill levels are welcome.

The ski club is a social group for students. It is designed for recreational/non competitive skiing and snowboarding. Club members will enjoy weekly ski sessions at Swiss Valley, as weather permits.

The Volleybelles club volleyball team competes against other colleges and universities through tournaments and other competitions in the Midwest. The season typically runs from October through April. An organizational meeting and tryouts are held in mid-September.

Western Equestrian Club
Founded in September 2010, the Saint Mary's Western Equestrian Team competes in the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association. They show in the western discipline through Zone 7, Region 1. They practice once at Harnish Performance Horses approximately 10-15 minutes away. There are a few shows each semester that members participate in and travel to through IHSA.
