NOTRE DAME, Ind. - Saint Mary's College Tennis took home a strong 4-0 win over Adrian College in the first round of the MIAA Tournament on Tuesday. The Belles improved to 18-7 on the year while the Bulldogs finish the season 8-12.

Adrian got out to a quick start with a win at the number one singles match before Saint Mary's found their rhythm. Senior
Evelyn Demblans-Dechans (Missoula, MT) and junior
Sophia Pischalko (Granger, IN) took home a dominating 6-1 win at the number two match. Junior
Anna Gardner (Houston, TX) and sophomore
Odessa Norton (Carmel, IN) closed out doubles play with a 6-2 win at number three to claim the point.

Singles
The Belles kept their momentum going into singles play. Sophomore
Lanie Brant (Stevensville, MI) got the first win in singles at number six as she swiftly took care of her opponent, 6-0 6-0. Sophomore
Shannon Dudy (Glenview, IL) followed that up with a strong win of her own the number three match, taking home a 6-0 6-2 victory. Demblans-Dechans then closed out the match with a dominating 6-2 6-0 win at the number five match to secure the victory.

UP NEXT FOR THE BELLES
Saint Mary's goes on the road for the semi finals of the MIAA Tournament as they take a trip to Grand Rapids, MI. The Belles will take on second seeded Calvin University on Thursday, April 30, with a 4pm start time.
