ELKHART, Ind. - Saint Mary's College Tennis split their Sunday matches, falling to Oberlin College, 4-3, and defeating Saint Francis University, 7-0. The Belles move to 7-3 on the year.
 
Saint Mary's vs Oberlin
Doubles
Saint Mary's got out to a quick start in doubles play, taking all three matches to kick off the morning. Senior Evelyn Demblans-Dechans (Missoula, MT) and junior Sophia Pischalko (Granger, IN) got things started with a 6-1 win at the number two match. Junior Anna Gardner (Houston, TX) and sophomore Odessa Norton (Carmel, IN) took home a win at number three, 6-3, to claim the doubles point before senior Emma Kealy (Hudson, OH) and sophomore Shannon Dudy (Glenview, IL) earned a win at number, 6-4, to close out doubles play.
 
Singles
Sophomore Lanie Brant (Stevensville, MI) kicked off singles play for Saint Mary's with a 6-2 6-0 win at the number six match. Demblans-Dechans followed that up shortly after with a 6-4 6-1 win at number four. Oberlin bounced right back and took four straight singles matches to shut down the Belles and claim the match win.

Doubles
The Belles took the first two doubles matches quickly to take the doubles point. Demblans-Dechans and Pischalko took a 6-0 win at two doubles while Gardner and Norton took a 6-1 win at number three. Kealy and Dudy took home the number one doubles match, 6-4, to close out doubles play.
 
Singles
Saint Mary's made quick work in singles play, taking the first five matches easily. Freshman Maria Manzella (Mokena, IL) earned a win via walkout at the number six and was followed closely by freshman Mia Graziano (Western Springs, IL) who earned an 8-0 win at the number five match. Gardner earned a 6-0 6-0 win at the number two match while Demblans-Dechans earned a strong 6-2 6-1 win at number three. Brant also earned a dominating 6-0 6-0 win at the number four match. Kealy took home a third set tiebreaker victory at the number one to close out the day for the Belles.
 
UP NEXT FOR THE BELLES
Saint Mary's heads south for their annual spring break trip for five matches in three days between March 9-12 in both Cocoa Beach, FL and Orlando, FL. The Belles kick off play on March 9 as they take on Sweet Briar College. The Belles then play a double header against Dickinson College and Ohio Northern University on March 10. They close out Florida play on March 12 when they take on Wheaton College and the University of Minnesota Morris.
