INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Saint Mary's College Tennis defeated Hanover College, 6-1, on Sunday to open the spring season. The Belles improve to 3-0 on the season while the Panthers fall to 3-2.

Doubles
Saint Mary's would take care of doubles play handily, taking all three matches to claim the point. Senior Emma Kealy (Hudson, OH) and sophomore Shannon Dudy (Glenview, IL) took home a smooth 6-0 victory at number one to kick off the day before junior Anna Gardner (Houston, TX) and sophomore Odessa Norton (Carmel, IN) took home a 6-3 win at number three to claim the point. Senior Evelyn Demblans-Dechans (Missoula, MT) and junior Sophia Pischalko (Granger, IN) closed out doubles play with a 6-3 win of their own at number two.
Singles
The Belles kicked off singles play with back-to-back sweeps as Gardner took home the win at number two and Kealy would take an easy win at number one, both winning their matches 6-0 6-0. Pischalko would clinch the match victory for the Belles with a 6-0 6-1 win at the number four singles match before Dudy would follow up close behind with a 6-1 6-0 win at number three. Freshman Mia Graziano (Western Springs, IL) would earn the Belles eighth straight match win of the day at the number six singles, 6-2 6-2. Hanover would take a win at the number five singles to close out the day in a third set tiebreaker.
UP NEXT FOR THE BELLES
Saint Mary's will head to St. Joseph, MI on February 13 to take on Spring Arbor University at South Shore before returning to the Notre Dame Eck Pavilion on February 21 to host Carthage College and Indiana University Kokomo.
