CLEVELAND, Ohio. - Saint Mary's College Tennis split their Friday double header, defeating the College of Wooster, 5-2, and falling to 18th-ranked Case Western Reserve University, 7-0. The Belles move to 6-2 on the year.

Doubles

Saint Mary's started the day strong, taking all three doubles matches to claim the first point against Wooster. Senior Emma Kealy (Hudson, OH) and sophomore Shannon Dudy (Glenview, IL) earned the first win at the number one match, 6-2. Sophomore Lanie Brant (Stevensville, MI) and freshman Mia Graziano (Western Springs, IL) took home the number three match shortly after, 6-3. Senior Evelyn Demblans-Dechans (Missoula, MT) and junior Sophia Pischalko (Granger, IN) rounded out doubles play with a 6-4 at number two.

Singles

Brant and Graziano earned big wins to start singles play, Brant winning at number five 6-1 6-0 and Graziano winning at number six 6-2 6-1. Dudy continued her strong day with a dominating win at the number two singles match, 6-3 6-3, to help claim the match win for the Belles. Wooster would take their first match of the day at the number three match before Demblans-Dechans quickly followed that with a 6-2 6-3 win at number four. The Fighting Scots came back and took the number one singles match.

Case Western came out and made quick work of doubles play. The Spartans took all three matches to claim the doubles point

Singles

Case Western continued their strong match as they swept the Belles, taking all six singles matches to close out the day.

Saint Mary's returns to the courts on Sunday as they host Oberlin College and Saint Francis University at Eastlake Athletic Club in Elkhart, IN at 8:30am and 1pm.
