ST. JOE, Mich. - Saint Mary's College Tennis fell to Spring Arbor University on Friday, 4-3. The Belles fall to 3-1 on the year while the Cougars improve to 3-3.

Spring Arbor would take the first doubles match of the day before the Saint Mary's duo of junior
Anna Gardner (Houston, TX) and sophomore
Odessa Norton (Carmel, IN) took the number three doubles match, 6-2, to even the score. The Cougars would bounce back and take the number one match to claim the doubles point.

Spring Arbor would start singles play strong, taking three matches to claim the match win. The Cougars would take the numbers one, two, and five singles matches. The Belles closed out the match with three wins as sophomore
Lanie Brant (Stevensville, MI) took home a win at the number six match, 6-1 6-2. Senior
Evelyn Demblans-Dechans (Missoula, MT) took home a 7-6 (10-3) 4-6 12-10 win at the number four match while sophomore
Shannon Dudy (Glenview, IL) took home a 5-7 7-6 (10-3) 10-6 win at the number three singles match.

Saint Mary's will return home to the Notre Dame Eck Pavilion on February 21 as they host Carthage College and Indiana University Kokomo for a doubleheader.Â
