Belles Place Third at Calvin MIAA Jamboree

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Saint Mary's golf team shot a 331 to place third at the fourth MIAA Jamboree of the season on Saturday.
 
Hope took top honors with a 316 at Thornapple Pointe. Host Calvin placed second with a 326. The Belles were two strokes ahead of fourth-place Adrian's 333. Kalamazoo's Darby Scott and Calvin's Chandler Sjoerdsma shared overall medalist honors with matching scores of 75.
 
Katelyn Tokarz and Sydney Hruskoci finished within a stroke of one another to help pace the Belles. Tokarz turned in a score of 80 to place eighth. The freshman was three-over on the nine and had a birdie on par five No. 13. Hruskoci shot an 81 to take a share of ninth place. The senior co-captain did not have a score above a bogey as she went 40-41 in her round. 
 
Haley Angel carded an 82 and tied for 14th on the day. The sophomore had a birdie on par three No. 6 and on par five No. 13 to go two-over on the back nine. Katherine Hopkins rounded out the team score with an 88 to tie for 28th. She had birdies on par four No. 3 and par four No. 10. Joanna James was the fifth golfer in the Belles' lineup and shot an 89 to finish 35th. The freshman was three-over on the back nine on the day.
 
Ashley Brewster competed as an individual and shot an 84 to finish tied for 17th. 
 
The Belles will conclude their fall season next Friday and Saturday at the 36-hole MIAA End of Season Weekend Jamboree, which takes place at Bedford Valley Golf Course.
