Student-Athlete Advisory Committee

We are offering a Leadership Development Program to Build Effective Team Leaders

Have you ever wanted to be part of the leadership on your team? Or maybe, be more of a leader in an academic group? Do you feel you have the skills to help lead your team to success? Or do you hesitate to contribute because you feel unprepared? Well, if you care about the future of team, these workshops are for you!
Explore your untapped inner leadership potential through the use of the Team Captain’s Leadership Manual by Jeff Janssen. The sessions will be guided by cross country coach, Jackie Bauters. This program is open to ALL student-athletes athletes - you do not need to be a team captain to register. The sessions will cover some of the essentials to understanding yourself today as a leader and where you have room to grow: communication, composure, commitment, and character are just a few. The cost for the class is $10 to offset the cost of the book. If you already own a copy of the book, you do not need to purchase another book, but you DO need to register for the class to hold your spot. forms/201920-athletic- leadership-development- workshops/

March 27, 2020
Pre-registration for the class is required.

If you order a book through us, you will receive your copy of the Team Captain’s Leadership Manual at the first class. Anyone who wants to join past the registration deadline should notify Coach Jackie Bauters of their interest to add, but must purchase/secure their own book (retail on Amazon, $25).

Student-Athlete Advisory Committees

A student-athlete advisory committee (SAAC) is a committee made up of student-athletes assembled to provide insight on the student-athlete experience. The SAAC also offers input on the rules, regulations and polices that affect student-athletes' lives on NCAA member institution campuses.

Presently, there are separate national SAACs for NCAA Divisions I, II, and III. NCAA legislation mandates that all member institutions have SAACs on their respective campuses. Further, NCAA legislation requires that all member conferences have SAACs.

"The mission of the National Collegiate Athletic Association Student-Athlete Advisory Committee is to enhance the total student-athlete experience by promoting opportunity, protecting student-athlete welfare and fostering a positive student-athlete image."
